15 Things NOT to Do in Singapore

03:52
Singapore is considered a contemporary, commercial, cosmopolitan city-state However, in this former British colony there are a few rules, taboos and quirks you should be aware of so as not to offend anyone Here are 15 things NOT to do in Singapore 1. Don't Chew Gum – Unless you Have Prescription You can be fined $500 if you chew and drop gum, but an exception is made for “therapeutic purposes” with a prescription. 2. Remember to Flush “An*l” culture? If you do your doody in a public washroom without flushing the evidence, you can be fined $150! 3. No N*kedness, Even in Private Parading around in your birthday suit, even in your own home, is akin to p*rnography. It can result in a fine up to $2000. 4. Don’t Litter Littering can result in a $1000 fine. You might think that's rubbish, but don’t trash the place and you won’t have to worry. 5. Don’t Show Feet Many Asians think of feet as dirty. It's considered offensive to point with toes or show the bottoms of your feet. 6. Don’t Discuss Religion Discuss topics like religion, and you could be considered offensive. It's best to avoid hot button discussions unless you keep your cool. 7. Don’t Take Taxis Why take a taxi when the public transportation system in Singapore is one of the best in the world? The MRT (mass rapid transit) system is fast and comfortable. 8. Don’t Snack on the MRT Singapore’s MRT has been a “no eating or drinking” zone since 1987. Fines can be up to $500 for daring to bite! 9. Unsecured WiFi Check the “auto-discovery” setting is turned off in Singapore. Tapping into an unsecured WiFi network is a crime almost akin to hacking. 10. Don’t Tip In Singapore, tipping is not a standard practice, so no need to leave some extra coins for your waiter. 11. Don’t Give Gifts Without Research Don’t wrap a gift in white, as that symbolizes mourning, or present a gift with your left hand. Furthermore, it’s common to refuse a gift not once, twice, but three times before accepting it! 12. Don’t Smoke in Public Public smoking is prohibited. There are some designated places where you are permitted to puff, but there’s a $200 fine if you mess up. 13. No Graffiti Spray painting on a wall, or carving a name in a bench could result in a public caning. This city occasionally sentences offenders to punishment for acts of v*ndalism. 14. No Dr*gs – Even Before You Arrive You can get into trouble for having dr*gs in your system when arriving in Singapore, even if you ingested them before you stepped foot in the country. 15. Don’t Finger Point In Singapore, pointing an index finger at someone is perceived as rude, so keep your digits to yourself and you won’t make waves! Heard of any others?

How to Select a Fly Fishing Vest - Fly Fishing Tip on Key Considerations

07:33
Unless you are one of the few fly anglers who have the discipline to fish with a single small box of flies stuffed in a shirt pocket, the fly fishing vest ranks right up there with rod and reel as a critical piece of equipment. A fly fishing tip is to not make the wrong choice - consider material, size, color, pockets, D rings, fly patch and zippers when selecting and setting up your vest. Follow on Google+: http://tinyurl.com/kayakhacksGooglePlus The Kayak Hacks Fishing channel covers kayak, wading, shoreline, spin and fly fishing. It features gear mods to make kayak fishing more comfortable, efficient and enjoyable. It goes without saying that fishing is dangerous as a result of the fast water, slick rocks and other hazards that occur in random, unexpected places. You need to exercise caution, particularly in the spring when the water is high or during rapid changes in tide before you fish anywhere. You should always wear a life vest when fishing. Also, a wading staff will help you keep your balance as you walk on the shoreline or wade. The bottom line is that you must make a judgment regarding acceptable behavior and risk and not rely on the opinions expressed here. The regulations governing legal access to fishing locations may change at any time, and it is your responsibility to understand the law. Nothing expressed should be construed as encouraging you to trespass on private property or violate a regulation.

11 Prohibitions for Saudi Arabia Women That Are Hard to Believe

09:39
What It’s Like to be a Woman in Saudi Arabia. From choosing a husband to using public transit, lots of everyday things we're completely used to are prohibited for women in Saudi Arabia. According to the 2017 Gender Gap report by the World Economic Forum, Saudi Arabia ranks 138th out of 144, making it one of the harshest places for women to live as far as equal rights are concerned. Women aren’t allowed to move around freely. 1:34 In September 2017, the King of Saudi Arabia announced a major change in the law that will allow women to drive cars starting in June 2018. A woman will still need to get her guardian's permission to drive, though. Taking a train is allowed only in Riyadh, but women still have to use a separate car at the end of the train. As for bus companies, most of them refuse female passengers. In some regions, a woman who takes a cab without her guardian is considered immoral. They must be covered entirely. 2:38 When on out in public, women in Saudi Arabia cover their entire bodies, with the exception for their face, hands, and feet. A black abaya (a long dress with sleeves) and hijab (a head covering) are the only things a woman can wear. The clothes should be made from thick fabric and baggy so that they don’t highlight a woman’s curves. They don’t have much choice when it comes to work. 4:06 Women can choose to be doctors, nurses, and educators. Female politicians and lawyers are very rare exceptions. For women, it's much harder to build a career than for men since they’re paid less and don't get benefits like medical insurance. Women will never answer the door 5:55 Most houses in Saudi Arabia have two entrances: one for men and one for women. Women can hang out with their female friends but only in their half of the house. Male guests can only visit the other half of the house where women aren’t allowed. If a woman needs to tell her husband something, she can call him over the phone. There is no gender equality. 7:23 A Saudi woman’s word is two times less valuable than a man’s. Just to file a lawsuit, she needs 6 male witnesses. A child can never become a citizen of Saudi Arabia if his father is a foreigner. A man gets two times more when it comes to inheritance, and women in rural areas are usually excluded entirely from the lists of heirs. But still, it's not easy for Saudi women to build a career in sports. -The religious police can punish a woman for simply talking to an unknown man or for wearing clothes that aren’t made from thick fabric. Fly Fishing Tip - What fly box is best for nymphs, dry flies or streamers?

04:44
What type of fly fishing box is best for nymphs, streamers or dry flies? There is a strategy to storing flies to protect them and maximize their ability to catch trout, bass or even redfish. Don't just stuff flies in any box! In this video, I discuss the right box for a type of fly, review a few boxes to include recommending boxes to avoid. This video aligns with my article in the April 2016 issue of Southern Trout Magazine - a free digital publication paid for by advertisers. The Kayak Hacks Fishing channel covers kayak, wading, shoreline, spin and fly fishing. It features interesting gear mods to make kayak fishing more comfortable, efficient and enjoyable. In addition, I share many tips, tricks and "how tos" for more effective spin and fly fishing regardless of whether you are fishing from a boat or on your feet. Please subscribe! Thanks! It goes without saying that fishing is dangerous as a result of the fast water, slick rocks and other hazards that occur at random, unexpected places. You need to exercise caution, particularly in the spring when the water is high or during rapid changes in tide, before you fish anywhere. You should always wear a life vest when fishing. In addition, a wading staff will help you keep your balance as you walk on the shoreline or wade. The bottom line is that you must make your own judgment in terms of acceptable behavior and risk and not rely on the opinions expressed here. The regulations governing legal access to fishing locations may change at any time and it is your responsibility to understand the law. What Wind Speed is Safe for Kayaking - Estimating Wind Speed using the Beaufort Scale

02:44
Each of us must develop a personal assessment of what wind speed is safe for kayaking based on our own equipment and limitations. This Beaufort Scale video shows how to estimate the speed without an anemometer (wind gauge) so you can see how bad you are going to suck if you go out in higher winds. Personally, sustained winds of 8 mph are my cutoff because, at that level, the wind will gust above that and make it hard to paddle. Kayaking in high winds is NO fun, so you need to know how to estimate wind speed before you get into an unsafe situation. What is LEGAL ADVICE? What does LEGAL ADVICE mean? LEGAL ADVICE meaning, definition & explanation

02:40
What is LEGAL ADVICE? What does LEGAL ADVICE mean? LEGAL ADVICE meaning - LEGAL ADVICE definition - LEGAL ADVICE explanation. Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. Legal advice is the giving of a professional or formal opinion regarding the substance or procedure of the law in relation to a particular factual situation. Legal advice is ordinarily provided in exchange for financial or other tangible compensation. Advice given without remuneration is normally referred to as being pro bono publico (in the public good), or simply pro bono. In the common law systems it is usually received from a solicitor, barrister or lawyer; in civil law systems it is given by advocates, lawyers or other professionals (such as tax experts, professional advisors, atc.). In some countries, legal advice is subject to the possession of a specific licence; in others, it is simply subject to the general regulation of professional obligation and can be provided by any person, who will usually be legally responsible for the provided advice. The UK's Legal Services Act 2007 includes the giving of legal advice within the definition of unreserved legal activities, which means that it can be provided by any person not just an officer of the court. However, if it is provided by a lawyer or another person authorised by one of the front line legal services regulators, then this activity is included within their regulatory reach. With the advent of the internet, many services have been established to provide individuals the power to conduct their own legal research or prepare their own legal documents. As well, some companies offer answers to legal questions directly through their web services. Legal advice is distinguished from legal information which is the reiteration of legal fact. Legal information can be conveyed by a parking meter, sign or by other forms of notice such as a warning by a law enforcement officer. Printed legal materials, such as directions and how-to manuals, are generally not considered legal advice. Accordingly, directions on how to fill in a motion form and other court documents do not constitute legal advice. On the other hand, application of legal rules and principles to a specific set of facts is almost always held to constitute legal advice.

But on that reservation of happy campers, don’t expect to find officials from Japan, China, or South Korea pitching a tent. All three of those countries have warned their citizens not to use marijuana while visiting Canada, and some are even claiming it would break their own national laws to do so. China is just the most recent country to get officially 420-unfriendly. The country’s Consulate General in Toronto released a letter on Monday requesting that their citizens stay away from the wacky weed in order “to protect [their] physical and mental health.” As reported by the South China Morning Post, the letter warned Chinese citizens not to break Canadian law by providing cannabis to minors or taking it abroad. “The regulation of marijuana might cause severe consequences to foreigners living in Canada,” it said. While issuing the warning that “If someone breaks the law on marijuana regulation and is sentenced, that person with a criminal record can possibly be deported,” the letter also added the seemingly passive aggressive note to “do as you wish.” This letter had China jumping on a bandwagon that’s already getting pretty cozy. South Korea tweeted in October to warn its wayward citizens that “even if South Koreans are in a region where marijuana is legal, it will be illegal for them to consume it.” The country also said they would be “punished accordingly.” (This could be one of very few areas in which South Korea is actually less restrictive than their infamous neighbors to the north–North Korea is rumored to be pro-cannabis in a whole swath of ways.) And even before South Korea started spouting off anti-weed threats, Japanese consulates in Canada had released warnings earlier in October stating that Japanese citizens who purchase or possess cannabis in Canada could face legal penalties upon returning to their home country, as reported by Japan Times. This is not exactly uncharacteristic of Japan. Simply importing or exporting the plant can result in a prison sentence of five to seven years, making using it in country both dumber and cooler than almost anywhere else. Stay tuned to see whether other countries turn out to be friends or foes of cannabis tourism! Anchor Hanger keeps the anchor out of the way while kayak fishing

I don't like having my anchor in front of me when fishing for two reasons - it might tangle around my legs if I dump the boat and, since I have a sit inside model, the water does not drain out; creating a mess.
